Barrientos

Senior Associate Director

Gabriel Barrientos is a senior associate director at APCO, based in New York. Within the organization, he is an integral member of the Strategic Partnerships and Global Engagement team, where his responsibilities encompass aiding a diverse range of clients in navigating and engaging in prominent global agenda-setting initiatives and events, including the UN General Assembly, COPs, and the WEF’s Annual Meeting in Davos. His role is dedicated to assisting clients in leveraging their influence to drive broader societal impact and to advance their business priorities effectively.

Prior to joining APCO, Mr. Barrientos was senior manager of partnerships at the Concordia Summit, where he managed Concordia’s partnerships with nonprofit, public, and multilateral institutions. As a native Spanish speaker with fluency in Portuguese, Mr. Barrientos has also previously worked at the World Bank, MIT D-Lab, UN Women and Partners of the Americas. His work previously focused on Latin American regional issues such as education, data collection and evaluation, and partnership development in countries such as Colombia, Brazil and Nicaragua.

Mr. Barrientos holds a master’s degree from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia.
