Freda Zhang specializes in complex, multiple-jurisdictional issues spanning across geopolitics, public policy, cross-border transactions and capital markets. As a Senior Associate Director in APCO’s New York office, her work focuses on advising multinationals on global public affairs and campaign strategies to futureproof their businesses and seize opportunities to capture new value – addressing geopolitical, regulatory, cross-border investment and shareholder challenges.

Freda joined the firm’s corporate advisory team in Shanghai in 2017, focusing on advising financial sector clients navigating market entry and market access issues, before transferring to New York.
Prior to joining APCO, Freda worked at SLOMA & CO., a Shanghai-based law firm specializing in maritime law. She also served as a research analyst for the G20 Research Group at the University of Toronto, conducting research and analysis of global trade and investment.
Freda holds a bachelor of arts (honors) from Trinity College at the University of Toronto, where she specialized in political science and international relations. Her studies focused on Sino-Canadian foreign and economic relations, public engagement and political psychology. She is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.
