Camille Villafañe is an associate director in APCO’s New York office. She is a strategic advisor and a recognized leader in developing fully integrated, cross-functional strategic communications campaigns for technology, financial and consumer goods clients. She leverages her unique experience working at the intersection of geopolitical issues and intergovernmental engagements to enhance clients’ corporate reputation and help them navigate complex global challenges. Drawing on her experience building globally integrated communications teams, she empowers clients to promote their interests and advance public affairs strategies. She is also an experienced project manager, having overseen projects throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Camille is the founder and co-chair of APCO’s LatinAPCO Employee Resource Group.
Prior to joining APCO, Camille worked in the public affairs practice at Edelman and provided communications support to the United Nations’ Ocean Generation. She previously worked on defense issues for the Bureau of Industry and Security at the U.S. Department of Commerce and facilitated strategic partnerships for the Office of the Secretary of Education at the U.S. Department of Education. Camille has extensive international experience, having assisted the Delegation of the European Union in the U.S. by driving transatlantic mobilization of the Paris Agreement and evaluating European security strategies for the Royal Military Academy in Brussels. She also has experience in political communications, having facilitated Latino outreach and community organizing for the 2024 presidential campaign.
Camille Villafañe is bilingual in Spanish and English, fluent in French and has working knowledge of Italian. She is a Public Policy and International Affairs Fellow from Carnegie Mellon University and a Killam Fellow from the University of Victoria in Canada. Camille holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from American University and a Master of Science in Global Media and Communications from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Camille was recognized as a Rising Star in Public Relations by both Insider and Observer.
