Blythe Reiss is a senior director in APCO Worldwide’s New York office. She focuses her energy on enhancing corporate reputation for consumer branded companies. She believes that brands that stay true to their ethos, stand for something bigger than themselves and advocate for consumers are most likely to make an impact in society and in the marketplace.
Ms. Reiss is a recognized leader in stakeholder engagement, media relations, thought leadership, crisis/issues management, internal and change communication, as well as government relations. She has more than 25 years of experience leading proactive and protective programs for many of the world’s best-known companies, including Pepsi-Cola, Frito-Lay, McDonald’s, Taco Bell and Electrolux. At APCO Worldwide, she leads our global work for IKEA and manages our retail portfolio.
Prior to joining APCO, Ms. Reiss served as vice president of communications, Americas, for the Electrolux Group, the global home appliance manufacturer, overseeing broad corporate communication and brand campaigns, issues management and internal communication efforts.
Ms. Reiss earned a Bachelor of Arts with highest honors in government from Skidmore College. She also completed the Arthur W. Page Society’s Future Leaders program, a two-year learning experience designed to prepare high-potential communication executives to enter chief communication officer (CCO) roles at major corporations.
