William “Bill” Clark is a seasoned public affairs strategist with over 30 years of experience in elections, advocacy, grassroots organization, congressional relations and government service. As senior director, public affairs, based in Washington, D.C., Bill drives cross functional integrated campaign practices for APCO’s current and future clients.

Prior to joining APCO, Bill was a key part in AARP’s advocacy efforts for over 12 years as campaign director. Most recently, he worked on both the organization’s family caregiving and prescription drug campaigns.

Before AARP, Bill held a number of roles as principal at Podesta/Mattoon and Weber Merrit as well as vice president at DCI. He has also served in several positions within the Federal government including at the White House with presidential personnel and legislative affairs at the newly formed Department of Homeland Security. Earlier in his career, he held several campaign positions within the Republican National Committee and the National Republican Congressional Committee.

Bill lives in Alexandria, Virginia, with his two boys.
