Anusha Sharma is a senior consultant in APCO’s India operations and is based out of Mumbai. For more than eight years, she has supported organizations to operate and expand their presence in India through public affairs, policy advocacy, partnerships and creative communication solutions. Ms. Sharma engages in discussions with policymakers, industry associations and various influential stakeholders to promote conducive business operating environment in line with Sustainable Development Goals and community priorities. Promoting and advancing social causes has been a core part of Anusha’s career especially in healthcare, development, food and education.

At APCO, Ms. Sharma has helped organizations enter the India market, grow their reputation, advance their causes and also supported them through crisis and issue management at national and state level. Some key areas of work have been around problem/ issue awareness, reputation management, partnerships with government and other stakeholders and public policy solutions. Ms. Sharma is experienced in handling crisis with state governments for clients. She has been able to build expertise in the overall food and beverage space, public health infrastructure, nutrition, maternal and child health, HIV prevention, gender equality and waste management.

Ms. Sharma was nominated and successfully completed the AMCHAM NextGen Global Leadership Program in 2021-2022.

Prior to joining APCO, Ms. Sharma worked with Perfect Relations, a full-service public relations firm operating in India. In her role, she primarily handled CSR communication and communication for social causes for organizations from various sectors.

Ms. Sharma is a post-graduated in Public Relations and Corporate Communications from Xavier Institute of Communications and has completed a certificate course in Public Policy Challenges of the 21st Century from University of Virginia, Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy.
