Senior Director on Financial Services

Andrew Douglas is a senior director on financial services at APCO and is based in London. Mr. Douglas has 35+ years of experience in the corporate banking sector. In addition to his role as senior advisor to APCO clients, Mr. Douglas is also currently: Co-lead within the HMT Accelerated Settlement (T+1) task force which will make a recommendation to UK Government in late 2023 on the adoption of T+1 settlement in the UK; Chair of the Data Standards Committee for the joint Bank of England and FCA initiative, Transforming Data Collection, making recommendations on reform of the UK regulatory data reporting space.

Prior to joining APCO, Mr. Douglas spent 13 years as MD at the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), the world’s largest post trade financial infrastructure. Whilst there, he held two principal roles including CEO of the single largest global derivatives Trade Repository, DDRL, with revenue in excess of $120m and 3,500 clients (50% market share) and authorisation and supervision by both ESMA and FCA. His other role was creating and developing the corporate Infrastructural policy team in UK, EU and APAC and focusing on post trade regulation such as EMIR, MiFID, SFTR etc.

Mr. Douglas was DTCC’s European spokesperson for Fintech, Digitalisation/DLT and Clearing & Settlement initiatives as well as several business units including Post Trade Services and Data. Before DTCC, he worked for key industry players including: SWIFT scrl, the global payments and securities standards body, where he led the securities product development function; Deutsche Investment Bank, where he ran the middle office for Fixed Income and Money Market instruments; Citibank NA, where he was VP Securities Product Development and Head of European Securities Client Services.
