Allison Parker-Lagoo is an experienced leader in health public affairs and communications, supporting a range of clients with federal and state advocacy campaigns in APCO’s Raleigh office. As deputy of APCO’s North America Health Practice, she supports the Health practice to deliver smart strategies weaving together the latest political intel with tested strategies for reaching specific audiences. She advises a range of clients individually and through coalition management to protect their reputations and advance strategic goals with creative, integrated and scalable activations.

Prior to APCO, Allison led public health and safety and awareness campaigns at Finn Partners. She advised clients on opportunities to engage with key members of Congress and state-level leaders, and was part of an award-winning project with a U.S. federal agency to urge parents and caregivers to secure furniture and TVs to the wall to help reduce fatal or serious injuries among children due to tip-over incidents.

Earlier in her career, she was a congressional lobbyist at Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) for five years. While at PPFA, she co-authored legislation with leaders on the Hill, supported national grassroots campaigns, expanded the organization’s coalition partnerships, and advocated for issues including health care access, environmental health and racial health equity. She played a key role in PPFA’s top Congressional strategy to protect the Title X program—a federally-funded program created to ensure access to basic reproductive health care services for millions of Americans.

She started her career working for the late U.S. Senator Kay Hagan (D-NC), and since 2012, she has worked for multiple state and federal candidates.

Allison graduated magna cum laude from Elon University and is a member of the honors society, Phi Beta Kappa.
