Alexis Harper is a consultant in APCO’s New York office specializing in user experience (UX) and content strategy for APCO’s creative and marketing teams. Her professional expertise includes UX research and design, interaction design, information architecture, taxonomy and copywriting. Leveraging her visual design skills, Alexis supports the global marketing team in graphic development to bring APCO’s brand story to life. On the Studio team, she serves health, education and transportation clients as a UX strategist, copywriter and project manager. With a passion for DEI initiatives, Alexis is the co-founder of APCO’s Multiracial Voices Employee Resource Group (ERG), fostering a community for multiracial colleagues across the North America offices.

Prior to a career focused in UX strategy, Alexis started as a project assistant in media relations, crafting press releases and copyediting thought leadership pieces for APCO’s blog and monthly newsletter, Stay Ahead. Leveraging her background in public relations and advertising, she conducted media monitoring for the firm and collaborated closely with the digital team on social media strategies. Before joining APCO, Alexis volunteered as the public relations and marketing coordinator for UNC-Chapel Hill’s chapter of Camp Kesem, a national organization supporting children through their parents’ cancer, providing year-long services for the community of families. Additionally, she gained industry experience as a videographer for the Wake Forest Chamber of Commerce and worked with 4ourFans, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping professional athletes find their charitable passions.
In 2024, APCO selected Alexis for the Global Exchange Program, giving her the opportunity to apply her skills at another APCO office abroad for two weeks. She also graduated with highest distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Hussman School of Journalism and Media, majoring in public relations and advertising. Additionally, she minored in Social and Economic Justice and earned a Sports Communication certificate. After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree, Alexis furthered her education by completing the Coursera and Google UX Design certificate.
