Stepping up its Game: The Role of the Private Sector in Global Health Financing

Date: 13 October, 2024

Session Description

The global health landscape is undergoing fundamental change. With increasing geopolitical tensions and financial instability, sovereign donors are obliged to closely assess the allocation of their funds. While this has the potential to create a vacuum and cause uncertainty for global health actors, we feel this represents both a challenge and an opportunity for other players in that arena. Private sector stakeholders can assume greater responsibility while at the same time contributing their knowledge and expertise to help shape global health processes and drive international decisions. Bringing together leading stakeholders from the global health landscape, spanning pharmaceutical companies, humanitarian logistics providers, med tech actors, government and multilateral organisations will be crucial to help maintain the critical momentum on the global health financing agenda, and to foster greater collaboration across.

This roundtable convenes global sector leaders, international organisations’ representatives, civil society actors and government stakeholders to jointly address this shift in global health financing while discussing the role of international collaborations to help future-proof global health coverage.
