Challenge: UPS was launching its community investment arm, The UPS Foundation, and needed guidance on its design, implementation and communication.
Approach: APCO helped position UPS as a global leader in corporate philanthropy and volunteerism through business-aligned initiatives; built strategic relationships with partners, grantees and NGOs; created training curricula for managers; and helped increase awareness and recognition of their field-leading programs.
Results: APCO’s support enables The Foundation to achieve its business and community goals and has positioned UPS as a leader in philanthropy, community engagement and employee engagement. UPS was named Best Corporate Steward by the U.S. Chamber Foundation in 2013. In 2013 alone, UPS employees and their families recorded 1.8 million volunteer hours and The Foundation gave nearly $50 million to address business-aligned global issues including humanitarian relief, diversity, road safety and environmental sustainability.
