Vusi Moyo is a deputy managing director at APCO and is based in Chicago. He specializes in envisioning, building and implementing narratives that drive business objectives.
Prior to joining APCO, Vusi was a director of R&D Communications at AbbVie, where he elevated key growth areas through executive thought leadership planning for the company’s Chief Scientific Officer, Chief Strategy Officer and their organizations. He helped advance and protect AbbVie’s reputation by leading and implementing external and internal strategic communications, ensuring AbbVie’s more than 12,000-employee R&D organization was known for its diverse pipeline and talented personnel, instilling confidence in its long-term sustainability. He also helped communicate AbbVie’s dedication to Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (DEI) as a member of the R&D Diversity Committee and numerous culture workstreams for Corporate Communications.
Prior, Vusi served as vice president in Zeno Group’s Chicago healthcare practice. During his time, he led communications strategy development and implementation, serving as the primary contact for several high-profile clients in the pharmaceutical, health insurance, medical device, non-profit and technology spaces. He also led the employee engagement committee, driving internal and external DEI awareness with outreach activities, celebrations and collaborative events. Vusi was named to PRWeek’s 40 Under 40 list in 2019.
Vusi holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations, with a minor in French, from Central Michigan University.
