
Jon Lang is a recognized leader in geopolitical risk advisory, specializing in the impacts of trade, export control, investment screening and industrial policies on corporate strategy and global supply chains. A senior director in APCO’s Washington, D.C., office, Jon worked with clients in the technology, retail, health care, logistics, energy, agriculture and financial sectors, developing tailored strategies to identify and mitigate corporate exposure to global economic security policies.
For several decades, Jon has worked at the nexus of global business and international politics and policymaking. Before joining APCO, Jon served as practice head for trade and supply chains at Eurasia Group, a leading geopolitical risk advisory firm, advising clients in the Americas, Europe and the Indo-Pacific. Jon previously worked in multiple U.S. presidential administrations, including as director for International Economic Affairs in both the White House National Economic Council and National Security Council and as senior director for Global Markets at the US Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration.
Jon’s analysis of geopolitics and global trade and supply chain policy has been featured by multiple global media outlets both as an on-air and print contributor, including CNN, the BBC, Politico and the FT, among others. Jon holds a bachelor of arts degree from Georgetown University, a master of science degree from the London School of Economics and an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
