Associate Director

Seiko Indo, associate director in APCO's Tokyo office, has over 12 years’ of experience in communications with a strong background in advocacy, issue management and public affairs. Ms. Indo has extensive experience in media relations and third-party engagement, as well as direct engagement with diverse stakeholder groups. 

Ms. Indo currently manages the media relations and stakeholder engagement work for Tokyo Electric Power Company.  She also acts as the Japan lead on several global assignments for clients in the IT, biotechnology and financial sectors.   

Before joining APCO, Ms. Indo worked on advocacy and public affairs with organizations including the World Bank; Cabinet Office; Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry; Shizuoka Prefecture; City of Yokohama; City of Seoul; PhRMA; and the Asia Foundation. She has supported industry associations engage with policy makers on intellectual property rights protection, and was also the first Climate Change Campaign Officer for the British Embassy in Tokyo where she was responsible for setting up a coalition of progressive businesses to facilitate the debate on environmental policy and the future of energy in Japan.   

Ms. Indo has a BA in Political Science from Keio University and MSc in Social and Public Communication from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
